We are now in the fifth level of today, with 206 of the 256 players left.
The blinds are 150-300, with an average stack of 12.487 chips.
Every pokerplayer has experienced periods with no playable hands. But it seemed like Roland De Wolfe had a really bad period a while ago. In the small blind he mucked his first card before the dealer had dealt any cards to the other players! He got it back, and the dealer compleated the deal. The other card must have been a nice one, since he limped in with two other players to see a flop. No help there, and Roland folded after a bet.
I don't know exactly what happened, but Marcel told me he had a set of sevens on a flop with all diamonds. He got all his chips in against a flush, but two blanks on both turn and river send the flying dutchman out of the tournament.
I didn't see the action until the river, where the board read 2c-6s-5h-Qh-10d, with a pot of around 9000 chips. The bigblind's bet on the river was 5000, with only a couple of thousand behind. Ramzi Jelassi in the cut off seat was in the tank and eventually folded A4. Bigblind flipped over 77, and Jelassi said "You know what? I though you were on a bluff, but I didn't want to call because I was afraid you could have pocket sevens."
After this pot Ramzi has 9750 left in his stack. "Why is it always me who gets into the sick pot's..." he murmured before going to dinnerbreak.
Day 1B is well under way here in Dortmund. The players have just finished the 75-150 level and the 100-200 level just started. In two levels the running ante will come in and then we can expect to see some bigger stacks. But already we have a few players with massice piles of chips infront of them. At top of the pile is Austrian player Marcus Golser. The loose and aggresive player has been actice as normal on the first levels and now has about 33.000 chips infront of him. Frenchman Fabrice Soullier also have a good chipstack with his 26.000 chips. He has been dominating hes table that also includes Ben Grundy and german player George Danzer.

In a huge pot of almost 15.000 chips a player moves all in for his last 4000 chips. The board is 5d-Qd-5h-10h-6d, and Ben Grundy is obviously to everyone around having a difficult decition to make. He has around 6000 in his stack, so this is a huge key pot in this stage of the tournament.
Everyone is quiet, giving Grundy the time he needs to make up his mind. But suddenly the dealer tells him he has to make a decition within one minute!
Ben Grundy doesen't understand what happens at first, and asks if anyone called the clock on him. When he understands that none of the players had said anything he was very upset and told the dealer that he couldn't call the clock. The dealer and Grundy startet to argue, and most of the players agreed with Grundy that the dealer was out of line here. Grundy eventually folded his hand, after loosing his concentration completely, and continued to argue with the dealer. "If you can bring someone over to tell me that you have the right to call the clock on me I'll give you a hundred euros" he said. The dealer just shook his head with a grin on his face and shuffled the deck for the next deal.
...takes his seat? No other than Noah Boeken. As i described earlier, Marcel Luske sat two seats to the left of Molina, and now he has position on Noah Boeken, a player Marcel has tought very much about poker. It will be interesting to see if the master or the apprentice wins the duel.
The players are now on a fifteen minute break
The hand begins with Marcel Luske limping in second position with 45 of hearts. A player in middle position limps, as well as the button and the small blind. Eric Molina in the big blind checks, and five players saw the flop Kc-Qh-5d. Check around to the button who bets 400. Marcel is the only caller. Turn: 3h. Now Marcel fires in front with 1200! He gets a call from the button, and they both check when the river is an ace of clubs. The button wins the hand holding KJ of spades.
After this pot Marcel Luske has 9000 chips left. The button builds his stack to 13.400, around one startstack more than Eric Molina, who is down to only 3200 chips. For those who watched the WSOP Main Event on TV this summer, Molina was the rude little kid who got knocked out by Jamie Gold in 31st place.
I don't think anyone would have put their money on Ram Vaswani going out in the two first levels here today, but he has! The leader of the overall EPT leaderboard had a short visit in Dortmund this year.
